Competition Rules

Entry Fee: £8 - (up to two poems), £3 - each additional poem
   
Prizes: £200 - first prize
  £70 - second prize
  £30 - third prize

The winning poem in both the English and French Category will be published on this website

  1. Entries will be accepted from writers of any nationality(over 18) and from
    Any country provided that they are written in the English or French Language
  2. Each poem must be typed on A4 paper and no more than 40 lines
  3. Entries are not accepted by email and will be deleted.
  4. No covering letter or other material should be enclosed with entry
  5. The Author’s name must not appear with the poem
  6. A title should appear with each poem submitted
  7. The entries must be the original work of the author and not a translation of another Author’s work. Each poem will be judged separately
  8. Submissions for the David Burland Poetry competition  2013  may be on any subject and written in free style or rhyme.
  9. Entries cannot be altered or returned once received. Please ensure you have retained a copy.
  10. All entries must be accompagnied with a booking form, payment and signed.
  11. The Judge’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into prior to and after the competition
  12. Poems must not have been published prior to entry and should not appear in print, on a website, self-published or broadcast before announcement of the Winner and the winning poem.
